EQUIPPING WOMEN AND MEN TO LIVE AS MISSIONARIES WHERE THEY'RE ALREADY DOING LIFE.

We long to see the Kingdom of God revealed in the everyday places we live, work and play. To do this, Forge Boston partners with individuals and churches to train women and men to live as missionaries where they are already doing life.

THE CHURCH AS WE KNOW IT IS BEING DISRUPTED. THE TIME FOR A DISCIPLESHIP THAT MOBILIZES PEOPLE IN THE EVERYDAY STUFF OF LIFE IS HERE.

THE FORGE
STORY

Forge was created to help people learn how to be a sign, instrument and foretaste of the coming Kingdom. The Forge Mission Training Network began in Victoria, Australia in 1996, launched by Alan and Deb Hirsch and Michael & Caz Frost as a response to the dire need for Christians to go into their worlds, amidst the many cultural changes, and actively engage others with the good news of Jesus & His Kingdom. In 2010, Forge made its way to the United States and Forge America began by rolling out local and contextual training hubs to various cities such as Dallas, Chicago, Austin, and others. The goal was and still is to inspire and equip every member of the body of Christ to participate in the extraordinary mission of God right where they live, work, and play. As a servant and partner to the local church, network, university, and nonprofit, Forge is playing a role in reimagining and reshaping the Church to engage  communities, neighborhoods, apartments, campuses, workspaces, and third places. The hope is for Kingdom expressions to increase in the places Jesus followers inhabit and for those we rub shoulders with to encounter the love of God and experience more generosity, more inclusivity, reconciliation and justice, peace, love, hospitality, celebration, and beauty - all things that point to the good news of God’s Kingdom.

"We want to take this adjective, missional, and make it a living reality in the lives of Christians everywhere. All Christians, whether suburban or urban, blue collar or white collar, have already been sent by God on a mission and they have tremendous kingdom potential in the here and now of their current situations. God is already there at work in our neighborhoods, workplaces, amusement parks, schools, movie theaters, pubs, or wherever, and we must learn again what it means to courageously join him in his mission of redeeming his world. "

OUR FORGE BOSTON HUB HELPS:

EVERYDAY CHRISTIANS

Are you an everyday Christian that desires to see God use you where you live, work, study, or play?

Forge offers coaching and mentoring to missional practitioners to engage in God’s mission and begin to see God use them where they are already doing life. Those we help are stay-at-home moms, athletic trainers, mall employees, leaders of housing associations, members of neighborhood associations, business professionals, non-profit founders, and more - and what they all have in common is, “We commit to stay engaged in God’s mission in our neighborhood and community, to remain teachable, and to keep a posture of learning throughout!”

PASTORS & LEADERS

Forge creates partnerships with the local church to help them move from maintenance to movement. We also help leaders create a discipleship culture that equips everyday individuals to participate with God in His mission in the places they live, work, and play. Finally, we work hand-in-hand with church leadership teams develop pathways for seeing new missional initiatives, church plants, kingdom expressions pioneered in their congregations.

Forge is unique in that it allies innovative church plants, mission ventures, a wide variety of theological colleges, and a number of major evangelical denominations and agencies. The Forge network is led by active missional practitioners who are able to offer significant experiential training.
